Our Story
Three generations, one passion — finding the perfect car for every driver.
Where It All Began
T AUTO SALES wasn't born in a boardroom — it was born in a cramped two-car garage on the south side of Texas. In 1972, my grandfather, Henry, a master mechanic who had emigrated from Ireland with nothing but a wrench set and a relentless work ethic, bought his first project car: a battered 1965 Mustang that everyone said was beyond repair.
He saw what others couldn't — not just a rusted shell, but the potential for something beautiful. Night after night, he'd come home from his job at the factory and disappear into that garage, the sound of his radio crackling with baseball games as he shaped metal and turned bolts. Six months later, that Mustang rolled out under its own power, gleaming in deep Gulfstream Aqua. He sold it for a profit that was modest by any standard, but to him it was a fortune. More importantly, he had discovered his calling.
A Legacy Takes Root
By the time my father, Charles, was old enough to hold a wrench, the garage had become a proper shop. "Jackson`s Auto" had a sign, a small lot, and a reputation for honesty that spread by word of mouth. My grandfather's philosophy was simple: treat every car like it's going to your mother, and treat every customer like they're family sitting at your dinner table.
My father grew up in that shop. He learned to diagnose an engine knock before he learned algebra. In the 1990s, he took the business in a new direction — instead of just fixing cars, he started sourcing and selling the kind of vehicles that made people's eyes light up. German engineering, Italian design, American muscle. He had an instinct for what made a car special, and customers drove from three states away to see what he had on the lot.
T AUTO SALES Today
I grew up in that same shop, breathing in the smell of oil and gasoline, listening to my grandfather's stories and my father's negotiations. When they asked if I wanted to take the reins, I didn't hesitate. In 2015, I rebranded as T AUTO SALES — a name that reflects our commitment to offering a premium experience without losing the warmth and integrity that built this business.
Every vehicle on our lot is hand-selected and put through the same 150-point inspection my grandfather would have done himself. We don't cut corners because we don't believe in shortcuts. My two children now help around the shop on weekends, sweeping floors and washing cars. The fourth generation is learning the same lessons I did — that a car isn't just a machine, it's a ticket to a memory, a tool for building a life, and sometimes, the start of a story.
Still Family-Owned, Still Family-Run
More than fifty years after my grandfather bought that first Mustang, the family still signs every check, shakes every hand, and stands behind every car that leaves our lot. We're not the biggest dealership around, but we've never wanted to be. We just want to be the best — for you, and for the generations of drivers to come.
